On April 19, APMA leadership met with Acumen, LLC to discuss our ongoing and significant concerns with the non-pressure ulcer cost measure under development, previously shared with Acumen via comment letter.
As previously reported, CMS is working with Acumen, LLC to develop a non-pressure ulcer cost measure, and APMA representatives President Lawrence Santi, DPM, and Dyane Tower, DPM, MPH, MS, senior medical director and director of Clinical Affairs, are participating as members of the workgroup developing the measure.
APMA strongly supports development of a meaningful cost measure for podiatric physicians to use in their MIPS participation, however, we want to be certain that the measure is well-considered and not inappropriately attributing episodes of care to podiatric physicians.
APMA will continue to work closely with Acumen and CMS on this cost measure, and will provide updates as available.
